The FCC late last week approved a new, yet unannounced smartphone for Verizon Wireless. Made by Taiwanese manufacturer HTC, the dual-band CDMA device will run the 2003 version of Microsoft's Windows Mobile for Smartphones operating system. Code-named "Vivida", the phone is notable for its unique sliding form factor and internal antenna. Documents made public on the FCC web site include a photo of the Vivida with a Verizon logo, and versions both with and without a camera. Verizon's first Windows Mobile Smartphone was the Samsung SCH-i600. STay tuned for more updates.
