Verizon Smartphone Pantech PN820 Nokia 6215i

The FCC approved a Windows Mobile Smartphone for Verizon. The Pantech PN820 or PC-8200N is a clamshell phone with dual color displays and the usual keypad. Nokia 6215i, an entry-level CDMA clamshell is a re-branded Pantech PN-315. It also has a 1.3 Megapixel camera with flash, Mini-SD card slot and Bluetooth. This model will also be Pantech's first high-end model for Verizon, as to date the carrier has only sold Pantech's entry level models. Current Pantech models on Verizon use PN- model numbers, however the second PC- model number appeared in the user manual and FCC filings. No word on launch date, we will keep you posted.

The Pantech PN-315 is not EV-DO, it is an entry-level model with a VGA camera, speakerphone and few other frills. There is no indication to believe that these specs have changed. Nokia's rebranding of the PN-315 was likely initiated before the Sanyo-Nokia venture was announced. It is possible this phone will not be sold with a Nokia brand or launch at all.
