MX Telecom will deliver SMS support for Virgin USA

Virgin Mobile USA said MX Telecom will deliver SMS support and provide short-code connectivity for third-party transactions. The London-based messaging company maintains direct connections to more than 40 operators across Europe, North America and Asia, providing text, voice, multimedia and location-based services.

Off-deck content has generated revenues in Europe, but U.S. carriers have only recently begun to embrace content owners’ efforts to approach consumes directly. With the MX Telecom announcement, Virgin Mobile USA signaled its intent to pursue third-party content and marketing services aggressively.
