VODAFONE-DE: I need help for my daughter who spent the year studying in Giessen Germany and has a Vodafone. Though she was only there for a year the shortest contract she could get expires March 07, which is about 9 months after she came back to Oberlin College in the US. We accepted that we would have to pay the monthly fee through the end of the period, though she did go to the store three months before she wanted to cancel and they told her she would have to call again three weeks before she left. When she called, they said she needed to tell them 3 months before (which she had done), so now they say the contract runs to 2009 and they also billed her for a camera phone which she did not get nor request. She still has the phone she used, though it is not used in the US, of course. Vodafone deucts from her bank account, but they have taken more than she authorized and the bank is now issuing overdraft notices. There was enough money in the account for the basic monthly fee through the end of the contract period, but they have taken more than that. She has been trying to straighten this out for months - first in Germany and now from the U.S. but has made no progress. Can anyone advise where we can turn for assistance (I took French in school and not German, so that may be a problem as well)? Thanks for any help.

Unfortunately, we do not have Vodafone DE staff on the board and I do'nt know the laws over in Europe, let alone DE. Anyways, the fact they restarted her contract suggests she must have agreed to it... otherwise there's no contractual obligation to pay that renewal since she never did it. If she's never going back to Europe just leave the phone where it is if they refuse to cooperate.... That's bad advice ha.
Let us know how your fair.
